In reply to Cherry Smith. Having both currently I can say with certainty that AWAS is fuller and warmer than AWKT. However, the latter does reach deeper and punch harder, while the former's bass is more floaty and atmospheric. Both of them are no basshead cannon though.

Thanks for the review that contains more info than 90% of the hundreds of threads/reviews I’ve read over the last couple of weeks.

I’m hoping that you can provide some additional info. Do you know what headshell might be compatible with the Yamaha TT-S303? I’m looking to upgrade the AT cart and the headshell as well. The AT-HS3 appears to be a candidate but I can’t find confirmation anywhere. Apparently you can’t get a replacement from Yamaha either as it’s not on any of their parts lists. I can’t even identify the tonearm.

Any help you might provide would be appreciated.

Hallo zusammen,
und da haben wir den Salat. Marantz wird gelobt, dass er für 1000€
nur CD spielen kann und das super!
Bei dem Denon DCD-1700NE hingegen wird gemeckert, dass er z.Bsp. keinen DAC-Eingang hat usw.. Der Denon spielt aber für knapp 200€
mehr auch SACD und hat, wie sie berichten eine wärmere Abstimmung.
Mein Gewinner für +200€ = Denon.
Ich besitze nebenbei den Denon DBT 3313UD. Alleine das Laufwerk mit der gummierten Oberfläche und die SACD Multicannel Ausgabe sind für mich immer wieder Gänshautereignisse.
Ansonsten ist Musik natürlich Geschmackssache!

In reply to Felix-The Cat. I have owned many Yamaha’s and now the A-s2200. I have also tested Mcintosh’s. I’d take the Yamaha any day. Like the reviewer the analog playback is so so good. Makes my vinyl collection sound like butter

I bought one and was surprised that it played my tdk metal cased metal tapes that cost a fortune back in the day, the unfortunate part is that I still have about 35 blank unused metal tapes and about 60 minidiscs !
that the funny thing about loving your music I have Miles Davis Kind OF Blue on 3 different issues of LP records, cassette, CD, mini disc and for just in case Reel to Reel ! I wish I had not been persuaded to sell my good gear in the 90’s.

If the manufacturing industry in the United States is strong enough, why would JBL choose to manufacture their products in China? I wish you stay away from Chinese-made products, and it is better to move to the Amazon rainforest to live, although there are also Chinese-made products there. On the contrary, I think 4305p is not perfect. JBL 4305P also has its own shortcomings. When the wireless connection is just established, there will be noise from the sub-box, the AirPlay volume is too high, resulting in a very small available volume range, and it does not support automatic wake-up of optical interface input. These bugs are already inferior to the 200$ level products of Chinese brands. If it is not for better sound quality, I will not buy it.

Thanks. Spot on. I am one of the fortunate 1000 and absolutely adore these speakers. They are beautiful to look at, touch and feel BUT most importantly they deliver a very involving and visceral musical experience. Thay are still relatively new, but seem to improve all the time. I feed them through a Naim 252/SCDR/300DR NDX2 setup. They do sound superb alone, but I use a pair of REL Carbon Specials (which I bought with my 805 D4 signatures) to augment their ‘super-tight bass’, and they do just what Mr John Hunter says they do, open up the soundstage and add a depth to the music that is addictive. A beautiful combination. With or without subs, a brilliant speaker

For me, 9 channels is enough. I live in apartment so the living room is not really big as in house so maybe don’t need much power? The main point is the cinema 40 sound quality equals to cinema 30? Thanks

Can’t it also do bidirectional ? For V2H, which is going to be a big thing.

Also, to do 22kW it needs 3x 32amp supply and cable. 32A, like cooker cable, gives 7.2 kW.

It is nice and small though isn’t it.

I have a 77″ G4 & love everything about it! My only gripe is that it did NOT come with the 4 VESA mount screws!!! I know its a small thing, & they give you a nice $70 wall mount, but would it have killed them to put 4 screws in the back of the TV for the people that actually use the VESA mount? I can’t be the only one pissed off on having to go to 2 hardware stores to find the right screws. Other than that this TV absolutely rocks, it makes regular cable look like a 4K Blu-Ray!!!

The DQ-10s were part of the best audio system I could ever dream of having — powered by a Hafler DH500 amp, supplemented by an Audio Pro B2-50 subwoofer, and controlled by a Carver Sonic Hologram pre-amp, they were amazing. When showing off what they could do, I’d position someone in the sweet spot, have them listen with their eyes closed, and ask them to point to where they heard a particular sound coming from — the trumpets, for example, in a symphonic piece. Then I’d tell them to open their eyes and see that they were pointing to a spot 3-5 feet away from the actual speakers. Incredible presence, clarity, and soundstage.

i have purchased harmon kardon citation cone speakers an s sub citiation and 700 soundbar, but cannot locate a pair of surround speakers. So was advised to purchase harnon kardon citation amp as this will run both citation speakers with another make of surround speakers, although via wire. Before i purchase a pair of surround speakers is this true. Will any other surround speakers work with this set up . Can i also include a cd/dvd player to play my old music cds
